Best New Menswear Designer Competition

Six designers attended a cocktail fueled event earlier this week (Wednesday to be exact) in hopes of becoming America's Next Top Menswear Designer (sound familiar? lol). The event, which was held in the ever so posh Rockefeller Plaza, was host to the "who's who" of Men's fashion. Everybody from Tommy Hilfiger, David Lauren to Thom Browne and GQ editor Jim Nelson.

The winner will be chosen by a panel of judges & announced this Friday (the 20th). The reward you ask? well a sizable cash prize and a capsule collection for Levi's is all included for these menswear designers. Keep posted for the details on who the winner shall be.

The contestants are:

• David Mullen for Save Khaki
• Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos for Shipley & Halmos

& The Winner Is?...

This Past Monday the CFDA awarded the much deserving Alexander Wang with the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award. As the winner he received a whopping $200,000 girls and a year worth of mentoring. The two runner ups, Vena Cava (one of my personal favorite) & Albertus Swanepoel of Albertus Quartus, were both awarded with $50,000 each & a business mentor as well.

The reception, which was hosted at Skilight Studios, brought out the fashion elite. All the way from Ana Wintour to Charlize Theron.

Only a handful of America's designers on the rise get the opportunity to compete for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award.
The prize? You ask....Well Money to start their line and renown industry mentors.
