I Know...It's Been A While..

I've neglected you so much...but no more!

It's almost been a year since my last post in which I told my reader's that: "I have no reason not be the greatest me anybody has ever seen." and sadly...I have yet to stick to that. I really don't know what happened to me though. Well a lot has happened actually. Shall I re-cap? Ummm, no I'll pass; there's way to much to tell and frankly don't want to go through all of that emotional mushy shit again.

Nonetheless it is O.K! All those trials and tribulations were worth it. Cuz after all of that I learned that what I was expecting was for everything to, POOOF!, just happen for me. No no silly rabbit tricks are actually for fools. I have to be the one to get up and work for what I know I deserve. Easier said than done...trust me, I know. Ironically enough the Teen Vogue Handbook made me realize that (among a few other things).

So yes...I am finally free from that temporary emotional purgatory and it feels awesome! Of course destiny has many more tribulations lined up for me to concur; I can't be naive and think that life is smooth sailing from here...again I'd be a fool.

Long story short.........I'M BACK BITCHES!!!!

My Ego Is Shot

I know I'm kinda late but Ive been debating on what I should say and I had to consult with my best friend on his views as well but finally what I have to say is: 

No shade!, first of all, cuz everybody knows I love me some Beyonce. But she finally put something out that I didn't enjoy. This video literally looks like she found this wall and said "O.K...this wall looks cute lets film "Ego" right here! while I'm on my lunch break; call Ashley and some other girl tell them to learn the ography asap and lets go!...OH! and get me a lot of hair."

It looks cheap, unfinished & uncreative to say the least. Considering Sheryl was the choreographer for this video I would of thought that her original concept would have been kept for some of the video but not throughout the whole thing though. on the plus side the hair looks amazing; I kinda missed Beyonce's huge extravagant hair.

BET Launches New Channel

BET is shifting towards a much needed change. They plan on launching a much more refined channel for our veiwing pleasure. Centric is the name of the new channel.

BET C.EO Debra Lee marked the election of President Obama as providing "the perfect time for BET Networks to re-examine where we are as a company and what we can be for our audience".

Centric will mainly be geared toward an older African-American demographic. The new channel, set to launch in 45 million cable homes by this year's end will be built around music and entertainment programming.

Some of the shows set to kick the launching off are: "Keeping Up with the Joneses", following high society in Houston, "Real Life Divas", a bio series on music stars; and "Urban Livin'", an interior design and home makeover series hosted by Helen Bailey. The channel also includes a reality show revolving around Terry Crews from "Everybody Hates Chris" and his family; a talk show hosted by Mo'Nique; "First In", a documentary following the lives of emergency response crews; and a game show; "Pay It Off", which allows contestants a chance to pay off their bills.

The one im looking forward to the most is "Model City, below)" which follows the lives of male models in New York; but not just any male models; more importantly the show will be following around the Red Boys from Red Modeling Management. I'll definitely stay tuned. Will you!?

When I stumbled upon this clip of Bow Wow's 1st sex scene on the HBO show Entourage I gagged. What really gagged me was the fact that you can briefly see his...well....unmentionables ~wink~. You would of thought he would have some kind of tan or skin colored underwear...or a "Cock-Sock" but nope; he opted for his birthday suit. Matthew Williamson for H&M

Yet another designer is added to the ever growing H&M guest designer rap sheet. This time around it's Matthew Williamson. He's on board to provide H&M with this seasons pop of color; some of the pieces include a wide-sleeved sequin minidress, priced at a hefty $200, a cobalt bluesilk suit with fuschia piping, and a tan leather jacket with neon piping. I'm excited to see what comes about. I'm just tired of all the dam stampedes that occur when these designers drop their name on H&M prices. The line is set to hit the sales floor on April 23rd. So start training and get that upper body ready to knock the girls over!

Stampede!!

A huge stampede of model wannabes shook the New York streets this past week for the 12Th season of America's Next Top Model. These girls are bold. Running in stilettos is a dangerous sport. There were 3 arrests and about 6 people injured during the chaos. Personally I would of been across the street laughing. Tyra needs to organize her girls their all over the place. Not to me!

I Refuse To Stand...

This economic deficit has hit mighty freaking hard in the United States. Obama is doing his best to improve the unfortunate mess that Bush passed down; but in the mean time all we can do is hope for the best & live through the worst.

Of course nobody is safe not even the ever so popular Marc Jacobs. We all cried when news that his biannual return to glam after party was canceled due to budgets cuts. Well that dreadful budget cut daemon is back! & this time it forced the MJ company to downsize their entire production for their up coming NY Fashion Week show. Instead of sending out the usual 2,000 invites this year only a lucky 700 will be sent. Usually about 1,100 guests sit to enjoy the show while the other 900 stand in the background; now, instead this time around, 500 will be seated while 200 stand and watch.

The show will still be held in the same place luckily, because the 69th Regiment Armory was booked beforehand last year. As for celebrities, Jacobs's business partner Robert Duffy said, "There may be one or two.". Duffy went on to say...

"This isn't the time to spend the money to entertain the entire world…. Everybody thinks it costs the same money to entertain 500 people as opposed to 2,000"..."It doesn't. All those 2,000 people still need to be seated, they still need to check in, this one needs this, that one needs that, and you know what? It's very costly."

Well I suggest that the invited bring a big bottle of water and something to keep them selfs entertained with, considering the show started 2 hrs late, especially if your one of the lucky 200 whom get to stand all show.

Oscar Worthy

The Oscars are quickly approaching and I hope we, and by "we" I mean fashion enthusiasts, are all looking forward to the most important part of the ceremony...the RED CARPET. Considering so many well known actresses are nominated this year we should all tune in to expect for them, and by them i mean their stylist, to whoop out the cream of the crop when it comes to attire. I'm not complaining...please shower my eyes with beauty! They'll never resist!...O.K enough with the dramatics!.

Considering designers have lately geared towards the whimsical side of design I will assume that stylists will have a harder time finding gowns that will be "Oscar worthy" for their usually less than patient clients. But hey who knows this might be the year in which actreses transport from traditional world of Hollywood glam to the exciting world Couture.

With Fashion Week being less than a month away, the hunt for the freshest new faces is on. So far Elite found and is holding on tight to 15-year-old Brazilian, Michelle Carvalho (left), who was "courted by every agency in sight" before landing at Elite; Style.com thinks Mexican Daniela de Jesus (center) might be Fall 2009's new Arlenis Sosa Peña; and COACD is all over Dominican Rose "La Rosa Negra" Cordero (right), who is inspiring much of buzz. Lets see who snags the most shows. My money is on Daniela her face is stunning and those eyes!!...no shade to my fellow Dominican love you down girl your regale neck will get you more shows than Michelle I hope

Katie?...

You probably gagged as much as I did trust me. Not that Katie doesnt give me high fashion with her anamalistic eyes and high cheeck bones; it's just that I didnt know she was into fashion or herself like that...hmph! fooled me!

Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot Katie in New York for Miu-Miu's spring 09 campaign sure to his sometime in Feb. Well actually now that I think about it, this isnt Miuccia Prada's first time choosing an A-List celebrety for her campaigns; Kirsten Dunst, Lindsay Lohan, Chloe Sevigny and Drew Barrymore have all graced Miu-Miu's ads.

Oh! I said mistake because these "celebrities" are,in my opinion, taking work right from under the snatched noses of actual working MODLES. I know I would be mad if I walked into a casting to later find out that the campaign or spread was given to an actress. Thats shade!

Eartha Kitt 1927-2008

At the age of 81 many women only dream of doing some of the things that Ms. Eartha Kitt did in her life.Throughout the six decadent decades of her career, Kitt won two Emmys as well as several nominations for Tony and Grammy Awards for her abundant talent in singing, acting, and dancing. I was introduced to Eartha during a very awkard date in wich I was somewhat forced to watch old Batman movies in wich she played Cat Woman; But what really made me realize who she was and how much I enjoyed her purr of a voice was in 1992's Boomerang (Eddie Murphy & Grace Jones were in that movie too *Must-Watch*). Me and my best friend  say "Marcusss Darling....*whisper* I'm not wearing any panties".

And even though 81 sounds like a harsh age, beauty wise, time has treated her face and figure with the up most care and respect.

Carine Roitfeld to Replace Anna Wintour??

I'm sure you've heard some of the rumors going around about the Vogue editor in chief we’ve all come to love in the past 20 years of her ruthless reign, Ana Wintour. Well if u haven't here it is...

Sources say Ana's contract with Condé Nast is about to expire & considering wilting sales at newsstands + budget cuts all through out the Condé Nast family its only somewhat logical for her to leave a sinking ship. Coincidence would have it that the previous editor, Grace Mirabella, retired at the same exact age that Ana is now. Let's hope that history really doesn't always repeat itself.

Nonetheless, the buzz has it that the possible replacement would be Ana's counterpart Carine Roitfield. When Ana was asked about her alleged retirement plan at the National Book Awards last month she simply responded "just go away". That’s rite Wintour you let them know! Let’s hope and pray that along with a new hopefully awesome president we get a newly appointed queen of fashion in 09.

Cadillac Records

On December 5th Sony Pictures will be releasing Cadillac Records a "tale of sex, violence, race and Rock & Roll in 1950's Chicago, "Cadillac Records" follows the exciting but turbulent lives of some of America's musical legends including Muddy Waters, Leonard Chess, Little Walter and Howlin Wolf, Etta James and Chuck Berry".

As you probably already know the roll of Etta James will be played by Beyonce; but what you probably didn't know is that Beyonce also put her Executive Producer hat on as well for this movie. I'm looking forward to seeing Beyonce and her all star cast portray the lives of all these music icons.

Since Beyonce declared that she was inspired by yet another Bob Fosse dance number on 106&Park many "Haters" have been talking ish about my "B". Well to get the record straight this time it wasn't completely Bob Fosse, it was mainly his wife Gwen Verdon and her "Mexican Breakfast" piece that inspired Beyonce. At least shes graceful enough to admit when shes inspired.
