Wintour Speaks

I'm a bit ashamed to admit that this is the 1st time Ive herd Ana's Voice. To my surprise Its amazingly soothing . I was expecting a more nonchalant attitude but she gave me what I needed

Boom-Kack

Honestly...Ms.Gibson...Laurie Ann Gibson looks like an immature dancer with no training or common sense under her red studded belt. I love the song, truly do; But! I was looking forward to a sick dance routine, considering the beat & lyrics is everything a dancer dreams of, and I sooo didn't get that. Ill give it 3 out of 5 stars.

My Pu$$y's on Fire!!!

We don't talk about how anxious I am to see the long awaited "Bitch You Betta" video by the dance god...Jonte. He had me and soooo many other followers of his work waiting a bit too long for this and its finally here. I'm ready to douse myself as soon as it comes out!

Kisan In NYC

So Iceland native store Kisan finally lands in our beloved NYC. The Parisian owners are super friendly making it an all around wholesome shopping experience. the clothes are awesome. You'll easily find a mixture of vintage flare with modern twists every where you look. They carry a plethora of must-have-it-now fall dresses, interesting blouses, eye catching sweaters, designer bags, statement making accessories and just culturally exotic pieces that every new york women should own.
Jerome Dreyfus, Orla Kiely, Ports 1961, John Derian, Subversive Jewelry, Bonbon, Caramel Baby, Donatella Pellini, and so many more designers are displayed all throughout this precisely placed SoHo boutique located on 125 Greene St.. Go head and check it out. I know you'll live!

..::OMG::..

OMG!! I haven't blogged in about 2 weeks and I'm kinda freaking out. I don't know!...I haven't been able to find things that interest my blogger senses; yeah theirs the usual fashion stuff but i don't want Abstract Chronicles to be completely about redundant fashion news. I need inspiration!. Its like my muse took a vacation. I gato snap out of it and start looking in awkard places. I should have at least 100 posts in Sept. alone already. I'm slacking that's all it is. So from this point on i try my hardest to post 3 different topics every day.

Skin & Eggs

Theres this weird new skin regiment that Ive just gotten into. Its called the Egg White Facial. I first herd of it from a photographer and he instructed me to use it before any major event or a photo shoot to get smaller pores, smooth skin, and a brighter more youthful appearance.

Basically all you have to do is:

1.Crack a few eggs
2.Separate the yolk from the egg white
3.Beat the egg whites until they become foamy
4.Apply generously to face
5.Wait for it to get dry
6.Wash face with warm water (closer to cold)

The website I checked out doesn't recommend that you do this facial often because the skin would end up getting used to the egg and then resulting in it having no effect after a while. Plus is you can use the left overs for a healthy breakfast. Im doing mine right now as I type. Go head and try it you'll love the results...PROMISE!

Trimming Baby Phat

As one of the last shows of the season Baby Phat, by the gorgeous Kimora Lee, came hard! For Spring/Summer 09. Kimora showcased a plethora of themes that are inspiring to say the least. The collection was host to Indian inspired vests, hippie-ish head bands, 70's inspired jumpsuits, ultra mini belted safari dresses, and 21st century swimsuits. In all, I'm sure the show left its star studded audience wanting more and ready to drop any amount for their off the runway looks.

The men's pieces on the other hand where bland and not as inspiring. The color choice though was interestingly bold and refreshing. I was living for the gold moccasins.

Coco Chanel The Movie

On Sep. 13th @ 8pm the world premiere of the long awaited Coco Chanel movie will be aired. The movie is going to depict the entire Rags-2-Riches tale of a glamorous woman who was hard to love and harder to ignore, our beloved Coco. The leading lady portraying Ms. Chanel will be the talented Shirley MacLaine.

Wintour Smiles

Ana Wintour smiled at the Alexander Wang show this past Saturday. I'll pray its a good smile since nobody else is smiling.

..::DVF::..

Diane Von Furstenberg as usual showcased some of the classiest, feminine, fun, refreshing and brightest pieces of the spring/summer 2009 season so far in my opinion.

Elise Overland's Showcase

On Saturday Sept. 6th as part of the second day of Fashion Week designer Elise Overland showcased her spring summer 2009 line. It embodied a chic and elegant female. I seems her inspiration was a 1930's fashion forward female lost in the sahara desert.

Favorite VMA Performances

This year the VMAs were...AIGHT!!!...not awesome how they used to be. Russel Brand was a horrible host and inappropriately sexual. I know I'm not the only one to think so. Britney Spears was the over all winner of the night taking home 3 silver moon men.

BYE BYE CONEY

Yesterday was the official closing of the ever so famous Coney Island. This centuries old amusement park and beach has supplied entertainment for families since 1609 when a man by the name of Henrey Hudson "discovered" it. Coney island was host to the worlds 1st roller coaster and is (technically was) host to the worlds most famous roller coaster, the Cyclone.
What's sad about this monumental park closing is that, its closing due to neglect. The owner, Carol Albert basically gave up on trying to negotiate a new lease months before it was actually expired. Her family has kept this park in the family for almost half a century and now a Co. called Thor Equities owns the property. As with all new (in this case old) open property in our generation, high rise hotels will be built. Bright side is that a new roller coaster is gona be built as well, giving the 75 year old Cyclone a rest; a permanent rest, but a rest nonetheless. That's fine by me that poor ride was falling apart anyway.
Hope everybody had the opportunity to enjoy Coney Island and everything it had to offer at least twice in their life.
